The game which was late starting and finished in rapidly fading light on a dull and damp evening. Sandwiched between 2 first team games meant that both sides fielded somewhat weakened team as they took to the field.

Summerhill dominated the first half with Ross Tallon in particular being in good form. On the stroke of half time Summerhill scored their first goal of the game following a good move between Eoghan Jennings and Conor Summerville saw Ross Tallon palm the ball into the back of the Trim net to give Summerhill what looked like a comfortable lead at the break. Half time score Summerhill 1-7 Trim 0-3.

The visitors started the second half well and quickly began to eat into the Summerhill lead scoring one goal two points without reply in the first 5 minutes to cut the deficit to just two points. However, the home side re-established their control of the game when in the 8th minutes of the half Conor Summerville struck for their second goal. This was quickly followed by another Ross Tallon point to push the lead back out to six points. Summerhill maintained this six point lead to the end with two further points from Tallon and a good point from James Gray. Trim replied with 3 pointed frees to leave the final score Summerhill 2-11 Trim 1-8. Summerhill will be happy with the win given the number of regulars who were unavailable.
