Summerhill Ladies LGFA was founded in 1993. We currently have 200 members in our Club ranging from Under 7s to our Intermediate team. Our membership numbers have grown by 30% over the past three years. We have over 35 volunteers involved in operating our Club. We made history in 2020 when a second adult team was established. Our main objectives are to promote and develop the sport of Ladies Gaelic Football as an amateur sport within the community and to promote the health and well-being of our members.
We were accepted to the Gaelic for Teens Programme in 2020, this programme provides training to Managers and Coaches to help keep teenage girls participating in our sport as there are high numbers of girls leaving the sport as they reach their teens.
Our adult team won the Junior County Championship in 1997 and the Senior County Championship in 1998.
