Reserve Cup Division 1 Rd3

Summerhill welcomed visitors Ratoath on Sunday afternoon for the final round game of the Reserve Cup Division 1. There was nothing at stake for either team with neither were in a position to qualify for the semi-final so it was a good opportunity to get some game time for lads before the start of the upcoming league.
Summerhill played with a strong breeze in the first half and dominated most of the scoring. By the 24th minutes they led by six points to two but a Ratoath goal brought the visitors right back into the game. Summerhill added on three more points before the break to leave the half time score Summerhill 0-9 Ratoath 1-2.

Ratoath dominators to play in the early stages of the second-half and slowly started eating into the Summerhill lead. Summerhill forwards were having difficulty finding scores against the ever-strengthening wind. By the 15th minute of the half Ratoath had reduced the deficit to just a single point. In the 26th minutes a Conor Lyons goal finally put a bit of daylight between the teams. Two late points in the run up to the to the full time whistle narrowed the gap two but the Summerhill defense held out for the win. Final score Summerhill 1-10 Ratoath1-8.
