A youthful Summerhill second string were no match for a strong Donaghmore/Ashbourne in Round 2 of the Premier Div 1 Cup in Ashbourne on Sunday afternoon. Trailing 3-11 to 2-6 at the break the home side pulled away in the 2nd half with Summerhill’s cause not helped by the sending off, mid-way through the half, of Gavin McVann after picking up a yellow and a black card. Fulltime score Donaghmore/Ashbourne 7-17 Summerhill 3-10. On the plus side the game saw a debut of another of last years minors, Jamie Burke, in adult football.
