Summerhill’s second team  lost out to Wolfe Tones in Gibbstown on Sunday morning. Summerhill got off to a great start scoring a goal through Connie McGrath  with just over a minute on the clock. Summerhill failed to build on this good start and only added one more point, from Cathal Brien, in the half. Wolfe Tones too were finding scores difficult to come by but added 5 in the half to leave the game finely balanced at the break. Half Time score Summerhill 1-1 Wolfe Tones 0-5.

The 2nd half began with a flurry of goals. First the home side scored a goal within 1 minute of the resumption. From the resulting kick out Summerhill broke forward and Sean Hughes found the back of the home net to cut the gap again to just a single point. Remarkably with the very next attach tones hit the back of the net for their second goal to pull away again. These goals energised the home side who went on to dominate the rest of the half, adding a 3rd goal in the 15th minute. The home side ran out comfortable winners in the end on a score line of Summerhill 2-7 Wolfe Tones 3-12.
