Minor Championship Semi-Final

Summerhill advanced to the final of the LMFM Minor Football Championship Div.1 final by overcoming Skryne in the semi-final played in Dunganny on Tuesday night. It was a result that didn’t look likely after twenty minutes when Skryne had  clocked up 2-6 to a single point, but 2 goals from Jamie O’Shea in quick succession brought the ‘hill back into the game and went in at the break 2-5 to 2-6 behind. A point in the first couple of minutes of the second half brought the sides level for the first time, and from then Summerhill led to the finish. It was a very intense hard fought second half, but the Summerhill lads kept at it and got across the line in the end. A feature of the second half was a great save from the Summerhill goalie Luke Byrne midway through the half, and also a monsterous  point from the boot of Eoghan Frayne. Summerhill minors will now play the final v St. Colmcilles as the curtain raiser to  the Summerhill Seniors in the  Fairyhouse Steel SFC final on Sunday next the 27th October in Pairc Tailteann at 1pm. What a great weekend this will be for our Club.
