Summerhill GFC

The Clubs annual dinner dance was held in Summerhill Community Centre on Saturday the 14th of January. Guests of honor on the night were our 1972 Intermediate Championship winning where we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of their win. This team is one of the most important team in our clubs history and the foundations they laid down has seen the club maintain it senior status ever since. It was great to see so many of that team hail and hearty 50 years on. A presentation of a framed photo of the 1972 team was presented to each member of the team or their representatives.

Our Senior mens team were presented with their league division medals. Our Ladies Intermediate team were presented with their league medals and our Junior ladies with their championship winning medals.

Other awards handed out on the night were, Mens player of the year Ross Ryan, Underage player of the year Darragh Loughry, Ladies Senior player of the year Kate Flynn, Junior player of the year Gracie Grehan, Minor player of the year Laura-Jane Matthews. The Club Person of the year went to Pat Jennings. A special presentation was also made  to Mary-Kate Lynch and  Aisling McCabe who won the All-Ireland in 2022 with the Meath Senior Ladies.

Congratulations to all the award winners. A word of thank also to the Community Center and to Brendan Cummins to did a great job as MC on the night.
