Changes to GAA Injury Benefit Fund. (This relates to GAA only, not LGFA).
Please note that any injuries from the 1st of June 2025 now have to be registered and managed by the player themselves via their own Foireann account. In the case of underage players a parent or guardian must submit a claim on behalf of their child. It’s important that each player has been registered on Foireann for 2025 and has an active membership number against their record.
It is no longer done via the Club Injury Fund Officer. As before, it still has to be done within 60 days of the injury, otherwise it will not be considered. The club will not have the ability to report new injuries
Further details are available via the Foireann Help Page or via a YouTube video showing how to register the claim: YouTube Video
All players who wish to make an injury claim must follow the steps outlined in the YouTube Video. The club request all players and parents of underage players view the video and make themselves aware of the process.
So what does this mean for you as a player/guardian?
- YOU NEED to be set up on Foireann and have paid your membership. All players must have their membership paid before playing. NO MEMBERSHIP NO PLAYER INJURY FUND.
- When you suffer an injury YOU NEED to go to Foireann and log the injury in your profile under the “Player Actions” tab. You have 60 DAYS FROM THE INJURY DATE to log your injury. If you don’t do it in this timeframe it will not be accepted.
The club cannot take responsibility for and claims not submitted in a proper and timely manner.
If there are any queries in relation to the new claims process please feel free to contact 086 3904518 or alternatively at [email protected].
