Premier Championship Division 6 Round 5

Summerhill’s 3rd team recorded a good win v Dunshaughlin in the Premier Division 6 Championship on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Summerhill. The team has lost out by the minimum to Bective in their last round and were keen to get the win under their belts. Summerhill made a great start to the game when a Conor Summerville shot found the back on the net on their first attack. Summerhill’s second score came in the 6th minute when Connie McGrath hit the back of the net. Things got worse for the visitors when Connie intercepted the resulting kick out to lob the keeper to record the home sided 3rd goal. With only 7 minutes on the clock the home side led 3-0 to 0-1. Summerhill added a further 5 point, two from Conor Summerville and one each for Ray Comey, Daragh McVann and Kevin Mulligan, to their tally to leave the half time score 3-5 to 0-6.

Summerhill continued to dominate proceedings in the second half adding two more goals, from Ray Comey and Kevin Mulligan to extend the home sides lead further. A late rally from the visitors included a goal from a penalty reduced the deficit to nine points but three late scores from the excellent Conor Summerville, a man with plenty of Dunshaughlin connections, saw the home side run out winners on a score line of 5-10 to 1-10.

Special mention for Colm Punch who played his first game for the club. Also it was good to see David Myles, Dylan Byrne and Stephen Husband play their first game for the club in a while also.
