Summerhill made the trip over to Skryne to take on the hosts in the fourth round of the A-League on Tuesday evening. Summerhill got off to a great start racing into an early lead of 1-3 to no score, with the goal coming from Conor Lyons and a brace of points from Conor Frayne. Skryne recovered well from the the bad start to draw level as half time approached. Two late converted frees from Conor Lyons saw Summerhill lead at half time by 1-8 to Skryne’s 1-6.
Skryne began the 2nd have brightly as they reeled off three points with out reply to lead for the first half. The home side were starting to dominate around the middle third and Summerhill were fining it difficult to get ball into their forwards. The decisive score came in the 20th minute of the half the home side struck for their second goal. Summerhill piles on the pressure in the last 10 minutes but the resolute Skryne defense held out for a three point win. Final score Summerhill 1-2 Skryne 2-12.
