SFC- Round 1 v Moynalvey

What better way to end the starvation of Senior Championship Football than the short trip to Trim on the last day of July in brilliant sunshine, to see near neighbours Summerhill take on Moynalvey in what promised to be a tough, hard battle, which this game was.
Moynalvey raced into a 6 point lead in the first fifteen minutes before losing Padraic Harnan who sustained a serious shoulder injury. Summerhill lifted their game at this point and 3 points from Barry Dardis  brought the’ hill back into to game, going in at the break behind by 3 points (0-6  to 0-9).
It was Summerhill that got off to the better start in the second with points from Dardis, McCabe and Frayne putting them into a one point lead, but with 12 minutes left Moynalvey converted a penalty and regained the lead to go two up that was the last score for Moynalvey.
Despite loosing David Larkin to a black card late in the game  points from Dardis,Frayne and McCabe sealed the game for Summerhill. Final score, Summerhill 0-17 Moynalvey 1-12.
Congratulations to Trim GAA on having everything in place during these strange times, the pitch was in perfect condition and Stewards were there in plenty. Also to David Rispin and WeAreMeath for providing commentary for those who didn’t get a ticket to go to the game.
