SFC Round 2

On Saturday evening Summerhill travelled the short distance to Trim to play near neighbours Moynalvey in the second round of the Fairyhouse Steel SFC. With Moynalvey winning their first round game v Rathkenny, and Summerhill loosing their game v Donaghmore/Ashbourne, their was huge interest in this game ,played in perfect conditions in front of a large crowd.
Getting off to the better start, thanks to three fine points from Barry Dardis, who took a nasty tackle ten minutes into the game, which saw him sidelined for the rest of the hour. The loss of the county man didn’t hamper the Hill’s desire to win, and despite a purple patch by Moynalvey who lead by two points on the 27th minute,  the Hill scored 1-3 in the last three minutes of the half, the goal coming from Sean Dalton leaving it 1-8 to 1-4 at the break.Moynalvey started the second half with two points, but Summerhill regained the momentum and were able to keep their opponents at arms length for the rest of the game and took away two very important points.
