Summerhill traveled to Ashbourne this morning to take on the home side in the ACF”A”League Div 1. Having played with a strong wind in the first half and loosing midfielder Michael Byrne to a second yellow card in the twenty fifth minute, the ‘hill went in at the break four points to the good. Conor Lyons getting the goal in the sixteenth minute, others to get on the scoreboard in the first half were Ross Ryan and Davey Dalton.

Playing against the wind and with fourteen men proved too much for Summerhill,and midway through the half Donaghmore/Ashbourne pulled away to go out easy winners in the end. Summerhill only score of the second half coming from leading scorer Liam Shaw. Seconds from the end of the game Summerhill goalie Tony McDonnell also received his marching orders
