ACF ‘ A’League Div 1. Semi-Final

After loosing out to Simonstown Gaels in the county final,Summerhill were hopeful of getting a win over them on Thursday night in the ACF’A’League semi-final played in Dunganny, but came up short when missing a penelty well into injury time that would of brought them to extra time. Simonstown got the first score of the night but the hill stayed with them and after twenty minutes they were 5pts. to 3pts. up,but Simonstown got four more points to the hill’s one in the run in to half time to leave the score Simonstown 0-7 to Summerhill 0-6. Simonstown continued their scoring run with four unanswered points in the second half, and it was eight minutes from the end before the hill scored getting three frees which brought them to within three points and when Ciaran Gillespie was brought down for a penelty deep into injury time, extra time looked likely, a fine save by Burlingham on the Brien Ennis shot seen the rebound hit the crossbar and a third attempt go wide.
