Summerhill maintained their 100% winning record when beating Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the Fairyhouse Steel SFC played in Pairc Tailteann on Tuesday night. Before the game a minutes silence was observed for Tom Gibbons who died at the weekend and who played an important role in the success of Summerhill in the sixties and seventies.  The sides exchanged points up to the fourteenth minute when a penalty was awarded to Donaghmore/Ashbourne after a player was brought down,which put them in front for the only time in the game.Summerhill replied with five unanswered points to leave the score at half time Summerhill 0-8 Don/Ash 1-2.

The ‘hill picked up where they left off scoring the first three points of the second half before Sean Dalton hit the net ten minutes in,which was followed twelve minutes in by a goal from Don/Ash. This left six points between the sides and when Barry Dardis got a second goal the game was over as a contest. The sides exchanged points thereafter but the Summerhill side had done enough to go home eight point winners on the night.
